When we were searching for a designer to reimagine our bottle designs, we wanted to collaborate with someone who had a unique perspective of the world. We found just what we were looking for in Lourdes De la Cruz.
What positioned you to become an artist and how did you get started in your field?
I believe I was born this way, paraphrasing Lady Gaga. To tell you the truth as far as I can remember I have always been drawing. My first visual memories of me are drawing, colors and patterns and I have never stopped. Art for me is way of perceiving life and expressing feelings and curing them. Art is very
healing.
From where do you draw creative inspiration?
Everything that surrounds me has a story, a color or a pattern that might trigger my creative process.
What is one life gem/quote/word of wisdom that has carried you this far?
I will give you two:
Thomas Merton. “Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.”
Henri Matisse: "Creativity takes courage."
